Verify Emissions Inventory and Reduction Assertion

Greenhouse Gas Verification Using ISO 14064

A 3-day course on using the ISO 14064-3 standard to evaluate greenhouse gas assertions against verification criteria. It provides detailed training on the verification process using ISO 14064-3, including material such as:

  1. Assessing your own competencies to conduct the verification
  2. Establishing the verification scope, objectives, criteria and level of assurance with the client
  3. Establishing a materiality threshold for the verification
  4. Assessing the risks involved in a verification
  5. Developing a verification plan, including a sampling plan
  6. Assessing GHG information systems and controls
  7. Assessing the GHG documentation, data, information and emission reduction or removal estimates or measurements for the project
  8. Evaluating the GHG assertion against the agreed-upon verification criteria
  9. Issuing the verification statement, including any limitations that may be put on the statement
  10. Keeping records and addressing facts discovered after the verification

This course can also be adapted to address validation within the context of a given GHG program.
